Captain's tips
TIP 01
Protect the V
Softball bats are light and quick to swing, so straight drives toward mid off and mid on are very common. Keep those two positions steady to prevent easy boundaries.
TIP 02
Mind the inner circle
In many competitive leagues, at least four fielders (plus the bowler and keeper) must stay inside the inner circle until the ball is bowled. Use it to encourage attacking play.
TIP 03
Adjusting for left-handers
When a left-handed batter comes in, the whole field mirrors horizontally. Off-side positions become leg-side and vice versa — use the toggle above to see exactly how it shifts.

The basics
01 Batting
You bat in pairs. Your pair faces a set number of overs together — everyone gets a turn. Score runs by hitting the ball and running, or clearing the boundary for 4 or 6. Wickets cost runs but you stay in and keep batting.
02 Bowling
Every player bowls. Each bowler bowls a maximum of 2 overs. Aim to hit the stumps or force the batter into a mistake. Wides cost your team 2 runs — accuracy matters.
03 Fielding
Everyone fields for the full innings. Stop runs, take catches, and back up your teammates. A catch costs the batting pair 5 runs — sharp fielding can swing a match.
04 Scoring
Both teams start on 200. Runs are added; wides and wickets are deducted. The team with the higher score at the end of both innings wins. If it's level, it's a tie.
